International Winter School 2025/26: “Workers of the World Unite!”

27.12.2025 bis 03.01.2026

This year's International Winter School will be held from December 27, 2025 to January 3, 2026 under the heading “Workers of the World Unite!”. Register now!

At the end of the year, it is time for the International Winter School at Kurt Löwenstein Education Centre – one of the biggest educational activities of its kind, hosting up to 120 people in our centre. Activists from all over the world get together to educate each other and discuss political issues, as well as enjoying a day in Berlin and the self-organized New Year’s Party.

The eight-hour workday, weekends, sick leave, the abolition of child labor - these rights were not handed to us; they were won through the courage and determination of workers who resisted exploitation and organized for change. Strikes, protests, and solidarity across generations shaped the victories we benefit from today.

Yet, our fight continues. In a world of rising inequality, workers face the challenges of low wages, precarious employment, workplace discrimination, the glass ceiling, and persistent attacks on unions. The gig economy, automation, and globalization threaten to sabotage hard-fought rights, while marginalized groups must bear most of these injustices. We must remember that domestic work makes all other work possible.

This year we will talk about the changing world of labor. What’s the role of unions all over the world? How do young people find their place in today's capitalist world and how can we bend together when the system is trying to split and divide us?! How do working conditions affect our health, mentally and physically? How can we fight for better conditions – and how do those conditions look like? How do we, as a society, want to organize labor, and what kind of work do we value?

There are many questions around this core issue of our society, let us come together and try and find some answers! - Now more than ever, we must organize, resist, and demand a future where labor is valued, rights are respected, and exploitation is abolished. Join us as we learn from history, analyze present struggles, and build a collective vision for an equal, socialist tomorrow.
